Binghamton Rolls Over NSU, 7-0

NORFOLK, Va. –The Binghamton Bearcats snapped the Norfolk State men's tennis team's four-game winning streak with a 7-0 win on Thursday afternoon at the NSU Tennis Complex.

The Spartans fell to 9-7 overall while Binghamton improved to 13-3 on the season.

In doubles match No. 1, Ismael Dinia and Bastian Bornkessel defeated junior Peter Ramstromer-Pello and freshman Dzmitry Zyhmantovich, 8-5. Sophomore Igor Braga and freshman Robin Riethmueller competed at the No. 2 position and suffered a 9-7 loss to Sid Hazarika and Eliott Hureau. Freshman Samuel Lemberger and sophomore Daniel Grauel closed out the doubles matches with an 8-6 win over Robin Lesage and Ruben Haggai.

In match one of the singles competition, Hazarika defeated Zyhmantovich, 6-1, 6-1. Riethmueller fell to Alexander Maisin, 6-4, 6-4, at the No. 2 spot. In match three, Lesage claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win over Braga. Ramstromer-Pello suffered a 6-3, 6-2 loss to Dinia at the No. 4 spot. Haggai posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Grauel. Lemberger rounded out the singles competition with a 7-5, 6-0 loss to Kann.

The Spartans will travel to Princess Anne, Md., on Sunday to take on Coppin State and Maryland Eastern Shore. NSU will face Coppin State at 1 p.m. and then they will face UMES at 4 p.m.
