BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Norfolk State University softball team dropped both games in its twinbill against the Bears of Morgan State in Baltimore, Md. MSU won game one 7-2 and game two 2-0.
Game one saw the Bears (15-11, 6-0) take an early lead in the first two innings going up 5-0 while holding the Spartans (11-15, 2-4) scoreless. Both teams were scoreless the next two innings until a

MSU responded in the bottom half of the fifth inning to reclaim a five run lead, 6-1, and added a seventh run in the bottom of the sixth to lead 7-1 heading into the final frame. In the top of the seventh inning, Norfolk State scored one last run as Vaughan hit another single, this one to left field, to score
Imani Moore putting the final score at 7-2.
Game two was lower scoring than game one, as the Bears only put two runs on the board while holding the Spartans scoreless.
NSU had a spattering of hits putting runners on the bags in the first, second, third, fifth, and seventh innings.

Norfolk State takes to the field again next weekend as they return to the NSU Softball Stadium to host the Eagles of Coppin State University. NSU nd CSU will play two games on Saturday, April 1, at 1 & 3 PM, and finish the three game series on Sunday at 12 PM.
