NORFOLK, Va. --- The Norfolk State baseball team completed a series sweep of Delaware State with an 11-5 victory on Sunday afternoon at Marty L. Miller Field.

Norfolk State improved to 7-15 overall and 5-4 in NEC play, while Delaware State dropped to 1-20 (1-8 NEC).
Ethan Blakeney (2-2) earned the win on the mound for the Spartans.

Jaydan Israel led Norfolk State, going 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored.
Josiah Harrison went 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, while
Thomas Ealey added two hits and scored three times.
Justin Journette,
Ryan Hoeft, and
Emmett Jefferson each recorded two hits.

Blakeney struck out six over 5.2 innings, allowing two runs.
Ryan Sellers followed with 1.1 innings of relief and two strikeouts, while
Tyler Mitchell and
CJ Patterson each worked a scoreless inning to close out the game.

Norfolk State took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on Harrison's RBI fielder's choice. The Spartans extended the lead in the fifth when Ealey drove in a run on a bunt single, and Harrison added an RBI single to make it 3-0.

Delaware State cut the deficit to 3-2 with two runs in the sixth, but Norfolk State answered with four runs in the bottom half.
Sean Stewart drove in a run on a groundout before Israel launched a two-run home run.
Cameron Mazell followed with an RBI single to push the lead to 7-2.

The Hornets added a run in the seventh, but the Spartans broke the game open in the eighth. Journette delivered an RBI single, Harrison followed with a two-run double, and Hoeft added an RBI single to extend the lead to 11-3.

Delaware State scored two runs in the ninth on a home run, but Norfolk State recorded the final two outs to seal the sweep.

Norfolk State returns to action Tuesday, March 24, traveling to Richmond, Virginia, to face VCU at 3 p.m.
