Spartans Showcase Talent at Norfolk State Football Pro Day

NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State football hosted its Pro Day on March 18 at William "Dick" Price Stadium, welcoming NFL scouts and evaluators as Spartan student-athletes showcased their talents ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. The event marked the program's first Pro Day since the 2015 season.

The showcase provided a valuable opportunity for Norfolk State's draft-eligible players, as representatives from multiple NFL organizations evaluated prospects through a series of combine-style drills, including the 40-yard dash, positional workouts, agility testing and strength measurements. Pro Days serve as a critical step in the pre-draft process, allowing athletes to perform in front of scouts in a familiar environment.

Spartans participating in the event included running backs Kevon King, Jaylen White and Jaylen Laudermilk; wide receivers JJ Evans, DreSean Kendrick and Kam'ryn Thomas; defensive standouts Daylan Long, Khalib Gilmore and Terique Miles; and offensive linemen Vincent Byrd Jr. and Dyral McMillan

Norfolk State's Pro Day drew notable attention, highlighting the continued growth and visibility of the program under head coach Michael Vick, who spent 13 seasons in the NFL. The showcase provided Spartans with a platform to display their athleticism, football IQ and positional skill sets while also engaging directly with scouts through on-field instruction and post-workout conversations.

Participants took full advantage of the opportunity, demonstrating months of preparation in hopes of elevating their professional prospects. For many, the day represented the culmination of their collegiate careers and a significant step toward reaching the next level.
