BRIDGEWATER, N.J. --- Norfolk State junior pitcher Parker Hampton earned Northeast Conference (NEC) Pitcher of the Week honors after his shutout performance against Mercyhurst on Saturday, March 28.
 
The 6-foot-2 right-hander from Virginia Beach, Va., threw Norfolk State's first complete-game shutout since April 12, 2023, leading the Spartans to a 3-0 win over the Lakers. Hampton allowed just five hits and one walk while striking out four.
 
Hampton and the Norfolk State baseball team return to action Thursday, April 2, hosting Coppin State at Marty L. Miller Field for a three-game series. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
