Biography

2014 (Junior): Pitched in 16 games and started nine times during his first year at NSU … began the year as a reliever but worked his way into the weekend rotation by mid-March … went 3-3 with a 4.82 ERA … struck out a team-best 59 batters, third-most in the MEAC … fanned three Buffalo hitters in 1.2 scoreless innings of relief duty in his second appearance … pitched four innings, his longest relief work of the year, and did not allow a run while striking out two in a loss to Savannah State … earned his first win as a Spartan while making his second start of the season in the March series with UMES … allowed one run over four innings while striking out four in that one … pitched a season-high 7.1 innings in his next start, a no-decision at Coppin State … allowed just four hits and no runs while fanning nine CSU batters … earned the win in the next series with CSU when he struck out 10 and allowed three runs over seven strong innings … was selected MEAC Pitcher of the Week for his effort against CSU … his third victory of the season came in a complete-game effort against UMES in early May, yielding six hits and two runs in seven innings of work … pitched twice in the MEAC Tournament, appearing in both games against Bethune-Cookman … took the loss in the first B-CU matchup, pitching five innings … allowed just one hit in three scoreless frames in the MEAC championship round contest with B-CU.

Previous Colleges: Originally signed with West Virginia, but transferred after one semester … played two years at Lenoir CC in Kinston, N.C. … was first-team All-Region X as a sophomore after batting .416 with 20 runs batted in … hit .338 as a freshman.

High School: Played four years of baseball and earned three letters in golf … was Eastern District player of the year as a senior … voted to the All-Eastern District and All-Tidewater first teams and All-Eastern Region second team after batting .446 with 32 RBI, 33 runs and 16 steals … also tallied a 9-1 pitching record and 1.15 ERA with 87 strikeouts in 51 innings as a senior … was a first-team all-district and second-team All-Tidewater selection as a junior, when he hit .491 in leading the Truckers to the district title.
