Biography

2015 (Junior): Played in 32 games and started 18 times … Saw most of his time at first base and DH … Tied for the team-lead with two home runs … Also hit five doubles and drove in 14 runs while batting .246 … Scored two runs in the first game with Delaware State in March … Went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored in the opening game of the first UMES series … Had a hit in three straight games in late March, at UMES (1-for-1), Virginia Tech (1-for-3) and Coppin State (2-for-5, RBI, run scored) … Batted 2-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and three RBI in the 21-0 victory over Delaware State in April … Recorded a 2-for-2 day with a double and two runs batted in during the second game of a doubleheader sweep with Coppin State in April … Had a 2-for-3 night, including a double, in the win over VCU … Had a two-run double in another win over Coppin State in early May … Hit a solo homer and recorded two RBI in the series-clinching win over Jackson State in May … A two-time NSU AD Honor Roll member during the year and a repeat member of the MEAC All-Academic Team.

2014 (Sophomore): Played in 30 games and started 22 times … Served mostly as designated hitter but also played first base in two games off the bench … Drove in 13 runs in 68 at-bats … Hit one triple, one home run and drove in 13 runs … Had two multi-hit games in the Furman First Pitch Invitational … Went 2-for-6 with an RBI against Xavier and 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI against Toledo … Went 1-for-3 with an RBI triple and a sacrifice fly in a loss to Delaware State in the teams’ first series of the year … That was his first career triple … Knocked in two runs while going 1-for-2 in the finale of the second DSU series … Hit a solo homer and went 2-for-5 in the third game of the April UMES series … Knocked in two more runs in the final DSU series in late April, going 1-for-4 in the first game of the three-game set … named to the MEAC All-Academic Team and earned a spot on the NSU AD’s Honor Roll for the fall semester.

2013 (Freshman): Started all 33 games in which he played … Started 16 times at third base and 17 times at DH … Had four games with more than one hit and four with more than one RBI … Batted .225 with four doubles, one homer and 17 RBI … Was fourth on the team in runs batted in … Had two RBI in the second matchup with Fairleigh Dickinson … Was 2-for-3 with a walk at N.C. Central … Drove in two runs against Wagner … Was 3-for-3 in the second game of the first doubleheader with Delaware State … Went 4-for-9 with four RBI and three runs scored in the first series at UMES … Was 1-for-2 with a double, two RBI and two runs in the middle game of that three-game set … Hit his first collegiate homer, a solo shot, during a 2-for-3 game in the second doubleheader with DSU … Went 1-for-2 with three RBI, including a two-run double, in a victory over UMES in mid-April … Also hit an RBI double in the final game with DSU in the regular season … Member of the NSU Athletics Directors’ Honor Roll for both 2012-13 semesters.

High School: A two-year letterwinner at Matoaca … Earned first-team All-Central District honors as a junior and senior … Batted .400 with 10 extra-base hits and 17 RBI as a senior, when he also earned honorable mention All-Central Region honors … selected to play in the VHSCA state all-star game … Was a second-team All-Central Region pick as a junior, when he hit .391 … High school teammates with fellow NSU freshman Andre’ Moore.
