Guarn Sims II serves as the Facilities and Equipment Manager at Norfolk State University, where he oversees the daily operations and maintenance of the Spartans’ athletic facilities while supporting equipment needs across multiple varsity programs .
In his role, Sims ensures all venues are safe, functional, and NCAA-compliant while managing the procurement, distribution, and inventory of equipment and supplies. He works closely with coaches, administrators, and vendors to support practices and competitions, and supervises student staff in executing event setup, breakdown, and game-day operations, helping enhance the overall student-athlete and fan experience.
Prior to Norfolk State, Sims served as the Assistant Director of Game Operations at Florida Tech, overseeing operations for 18 NCAA Division II programs, including event logistics, staffing, and vendor coordination. He also gained experience as a Sports Coordinator with the YMCA of South Palm Beach County and an Event Manager with Perfect Game USA, along with roles in public relations and game-day operations with the Florida Everblades and Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics.
Sims earned his Master of Science in Sport Administration from the University of Cincinnati and his Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Florida Gulf Coast University .
