DOVER, Del. — Cassandra Morris had a match-high 13 kills to lead the Delaware State volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-15) win over Norfolk State on Friday in the Delaware State Hornet Invitational.

The Spartans (2-7), who dropped a 3-1 (25-17, 21-25, 25-23, 25-13) decision to LaSalle earlier in the day, played a close match against DSU (4-5).

Freshman Chynna Blaker (Goodrich, Mich.) led the Spartans with a career-high 12 kills in the DSU match. She hit .526 with four digs and one assist. Kristen Burt (Ashburn, Va.), another first-year Spartan, had a career-high 24 assists.

The Spartans play Navy at 9 a.m. and Maryland Eastern Shore 3 p.m. on Saturday.
