NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk State continues its December road slate with a non-conference game at the University of Evansville this Thursday night. The game gets underway at 8 p.m. ET from Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Ind.

The Spartans (1-8) enter this contest having lost seven in a row after a heartbreaking 50-49 loss at Virginia on Monday night. The Cavaliers scored the winning points on Assane Sene's tip-in with 4.8 seconds left. Rob Hampton scored 17 points and Chris McEachin 11 to lead the Spartans.

Evansville has won two straight after an 81-79 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday behind 22 points from Colt Ryan.

NSU and Evansville have met just once before, with the Purple Aces taking an 80-71 win on Dec. 22, 2007 at Roberts Stadium. The Spartans are 0-5 all-time against teams from the Missouri Valley Conference, going 0-1 against Creighton (2005-06), Evansville (2007-08) and Illinois State (2009-10) and 0-2 against Missouri State (1974-75 and 2008-09).
