NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State women's basketball team is looking for their first road win of the season as they take on Radford on Thursday at the Dedmon Center in Radford, Va. The game starts at 7 p.m. This is the fifth of six consecutive road games for the Spartans.

Last Time Out: NSU (1-6, 0-2) fell to S.C. State in overtime, 62-59, on Dec. 3 at the S-M-H Center in Orangeburg, S.C. Rachel Gordon led the Spartans with 16 points and 18 rebounds.
All-Time Series: Radford leads the series with NSU, 7-3. Last season Radford defeated the Spartans, 80-68. Da'Nar Erwin Spencer led the Highlanders with 20 points, two rebounds and five assists. The Highlanders also had two other players in double-figures including Ashley Buckhannon and Victoria Hamilton who each scored 15 points. Rae Corbo led NSU with 19 points and three steals. Whitney Long tallied 13 points and Quineshia Leonard added 11 points. NSU posted its last victory over Radford on Dec. 14, 2003, with the final score, 71-58.
About Radford: Radford (4-4, 0-1) is coming off of a 72-55 win over William & Mary on Dec. 8. The Highlanders had four players in double-figures with Ayana Avery leading the way with 17 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Aisha Foy followed with 16 points, 12 of which were 3-pointers. Ashley Buckhannon added 14 points, four assists, and five steals for Radford. Da'Nar Erwin Spencer rounded out the Highlanders top four scorers with 12 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals.
MEAC, NCAA Leaderboard: As a team NSU currently ranks in the top 5 in six different categories in the MEAC, while NSU players rank in the top 5 in six different categories, including Rachel Gordon, who leads the league in rebounding at 12.1 boards per game. Gordon also currently ranks 10th in the NCAA in rebounding.
Scoring Leaders: Kashay Barnes leads NSU in scoring averaging 10.4 points per game followed by Quineshia Leonard, who is averaging 9.9 points per game.
Defensive Minded: Rachel Gordon tallied 18 rebounds in the Spartans 62-59 overtime loss to S.C. State on Dec. 3. Gordon currently leads the MEAC in rebounding, averaging 12.1 rebounds per game.
Winning the Rebounding Battle: NSU outrebounded S.C. State, 60-41, on Dec. 3, with Rachel Gordon leading the way with 18 rebounds.
Cracking the top 10: Recca Trice's seven assists in the game against Appalachian State moved her into sixth place all-time in the NSU record book for career assists. Trice has 371 career assists and 39 assists so far this season.
