WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary hit .333 in cruising to a 3-0 win over the Norfolk State volleyball team on Tuesday night in a non-conference match at Kaplan Arena.
The Tribe picked up the victory via scores of 25-14, 25-11 and 25-16. Julia Brown led the way with eight kills and nine blocks, as she had a hand in all nine of the team's blocks on the night.
William & Mary (3-17) finished with 34 kills on the way to hitting .333. The Tribe limited the Spartans to a .051 attack percentage.
Freshmen
Taylor Eichelberger (seven kills) and
Clara Kick (four blocks) paced NSU, which fell to 3-15.
William & Mary had runs of 11-2 in the first set and 12-2 in the third set to pull away from the Spartans. The Tribe also began the second set up 11-3, but it was in the third NSU had its most success. Kick had three straight blocks, including two with sophomore
Jessica Radford, during a 5-1 run.
Later on, the Spartans scored five of seven points, including two kills from Eichelberger.
Sydney Biniak totaled eight kills for the Tribe, and Kate Dedrick posted seven kills and four blocks.
NSU gets back to MEAC play on Sunday at Howard at 3 p.m.
