NORFOLK, Va. --- Norfolk State University inducted eight distinguished figures into its Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday, Feb. 13, at Rivers Casino Portsmouth, honoring their lasting impact on Spartan athletics during the Legends and Leaders celebration.
Norfolk State's Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Melody Webb, praised the inductees for shaping the university's athletic tradition and inspiring future generations of Spartans.
"Thank you to all of the inductees for continuing to inspire Norfolk State University," Webb said. "Your legacy will live on in Spartan history. Tonight, we honor and celebrate you. Your legacy lives forever."
The 2025 Hall of Fame class includes Williard Bailey (football/administrator), Martha Bissah (cross country/track and field),
Kenneth Giles (cross country/track and field), Danielle Jones (softball),
Robert Jones (men's basketball), Ralph Tally (men's basketball), Larry Vickers (women's basketball) and Pendarvis Williams (men's basketball).
Dr. Danielle Williams opened the ceremony with welcoming remarks and reflected on the honorees' influence on Norfolk State athletics. Norfolk State University President Dr. Javaune Adams-Gaston followed by recognizing the inductees' achievements and commitment to excellence on and off the field.
Event organizers served dinner before the induction program formally recognized each honoree. Bob Dandridge, a 1983 Norfolk State Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, joined
Ross Gordon in introducing the newest class and highlighting their accomplishments and contributions to Spartan athletics.
The Norfolk State Athletics Hall of Fame celebrates former student-athletes, coaches, administrators and supporters who have made significant contributions to the university's athletic success and legacy.
