NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State University men's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 21, hosting South Carolina State at 4:00 p.m. inside Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall. A game that has MEAC postseason implications on the line and that will be broadcast on national television on ESPNU.

Norfolk State (13-14, 6-4 MEAC) enters Saturday's contest following a 70-66 road victory over Maryland Eastern Shore, improving to 6-4 in conference play.

  • Jayden Johnson led SCSU with 20 points against NCCU shooting 6-of-10 from the field including 3-of-5 from three-point range and 5-of-6 at the free throw line.  
  • Chris Parker (18), James Marrow (12), Owen Bronston (12) and Cameron Clark (11) joined Johnson in double figures. Parker recorded a team high seven rebounds in the game.  
  • Clark leads the Bulldogs in rebounding with 5.3 reb per game with Parker just behind with 5.2 per game.  
  • SCSU averages 65.8 points per game as a team while allowing opponents 79.6 ppg. 
  • The team shoots 40.8% on FGA, 34.0% on 3FG, and 64.4% at the FT line. 
  • Head coach Erik Martin is in his 4th season leading the Bulldogs with a 46-75 record. 
  • Saturday's game against the Spartans will be the Bulldogs third game in six days.
