ABOUT THE SPARTANS
Norfolk State enters the weekend 10-16 overall and 7-5 in NEC play after taking two of three games at Mercyhurst last weekend (2-11, 3-0, 4-0). The Spartans sit fourth in the NEC standings.

Thomas Ealey leads the team with a .344 batting average, totaling 33 hits, 11 stolen bases, nine RBIs and two triples.
Justin Journette follows with a .340 average, adding 32 hits, 26 RBIs, 10 home runs and five doubles.
Josiah Harrison owns a .353 average with 18 hits, while
Cameron Mazell adds a .286 average with 26 hits.

Ethan Blakeney (3-2) leads the pitching staff with 29 strikeouts and a 5.19 ERA. Reigning NEC Pitcher of the Week
Parker Hampton (2-1) has 25 strikeouts, while
Walker Fuller (0-3) has recorded 21.
Yasseel Samboy (2-0) anchors the bullpen with a 3.44 ERA and three saves.

ABOUT THE EAGLES
Coppin State enters the weekend 4-19 overall and 4-8 in NEC play. The Eagles went 1-2 at Le Moyne last weekend (1-11, 16-9, 6-10) before falling to Towson 18-1 in midweek action.

Angel Garcia leads Coppin State with a .324 batting average, recording 22 hits, 17 runs scored, 13 RBIs, three doubles, two home runs and one triple. Armando Hurtado ranks second on the team with a .317 average, totaling 20 hits, 26 RBIs, 16 runs scored, seven doubles, four home runs and one triple. Nelson Grajales also bats over .300 with a .304 average.

Dillion Kirksey (2-3) and Jake Cumming (1-5) lead the Eagles with 30 strikeouts each this season. Justin Ritz (0-1) has one save out of the bullpen, while Nicco Holland (0-3) has recorded 22 strikeouts.

SERIES HISTORY
Norfolk State holds a 118-43 all-time record against Coppin State in a series that dates to 1978. The Eagles swept all three meetings last season (8-4, 4-3, 2-0). Norfolk State will look for its first win in the series since 2022.
