ABOUT NORFOLK STATE
Norfolk State enters the weekend at 18-14 overall and 8-4 in MEAC play after going 1-2 at South Carolina State and falling 4-3 in a midweek contest at Longwood.
AT THE PLATE
The Spartans continue to feature a balanced lineup with power in the middle and speed at the top. Maddy Morris leads the offense, batting .374 with nine home runs and 25 RBIs while posting a 1.178 OPS and .725 slugging percentage.
Aniyah Michalak is hitting .351 with a team-high 23 runs scored and 10 stolen bases, reaching base at a .419 clip. Kailey Bryant adds versatility with a team-high 34 hits, along with nine doubles, two triples, and nine stolen bases.
In the middle of the order, Bristyl Riddick is batting .326 with six home runs and 25 RBIs, while McKaley Kohn (.310) provides depth and consistency as the Spartans continue to apply pressure offensively.

Norfolk State's pitching staff is led by Maddy Morris, who owns an 8-5 record with a 1.86 ERA across 75.1 innings. She has held opponents to a .228 batting average while recording 40 strikeouts, adding five complete games, two shutouts, and a save.
Kailey Bryant provides a steady second option with a 5-5 record and a 3.24 ERA in 49.2 innings, totaling 30 strikeouts.
Amaya McPherson (3.39 ERA) and Samantha Stevenson (4.45 ERA) round out the staff, combining for over 60 innings. McPherson has added a save, while Stevenson has recorded 19 strikeouts and a shutout.
ABOUT COPPIN STATE
Coppin State enters the weekend at 5-17 overall and 4-8 in MEAC play, coming off a series sweep of Maryland Eastern Shore in which the Eagles scored 37 total runs.
Brooklyn Tapusoa leads the offense with a .333 average, pacing the team in hits (21), home runs (5), RBIs (18), and total bases (41), while posting a .651 slugging percentage. Giselle Ulloa leads the team in runs scored (14) and extra-base hits, including seven doubles and two triples.
In the circle, Brooklyn Lee-Scott, Debra Hyde, and Emily Quintero have combined for the bulk of the innings. Lee-Scott leads the staff with a 4.89 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 38.2 innings, while Hyde (5.60 ERA) and Quintero (6.17 ERA) provide additional depth.

Norfolk State holds a 67-17 all-time advantage over Coppin State in a series dating back to 1998.
